What kind of update gets rid of the playback button? And the repeat loop option automatically makes you start over instead of letting you drag the cursor where you need it. A real letdown

For some reason there is no matching dashboard as on the website. I’d love to see a running view of all things due today and tomorrow instead of an awkward calendar view or misleading tasks view. Also, widgets would be super useful - if you had one that showed the stuff that’s due today. There’s a widget for announcements and grades. I don’t care as much about grade if I could see my deadlines and therefore submit for a good grade. Thanks!!!!!!!

Just being real, compared to all other LMS options, Canvas is the best. I have had the misfortune of using a couple different LMS solutions, and canvas is by far king. The thing about canvas that is hilariously frustrating are the features on the app aren’t all of the features of the desktop version. I need to download a file I uploaded to another assignment, but i lost the file because i lost the phone, so i need it for this other assignment where we chop up said video. Can I do that on my phone version of canvas student? No. Can I do it in safari on my iPad? Yes. Clearly I can download the file, so why not just bake in the ability to do so into the mobile app? It’s just these small things that keeps the canvas app from really being 5 stars. I gave it 5 because seriously this is the only good LMS out there, the others are so so bad.

It’s good overall and really helpful but I can’t get anything done when it kicks me out recently every time I try to open it it always kicks me out so I can’t get my assignments done and turned in

I am unable to use the grade experimentation feature that is present in the web version. Additionally the refresh by scrolling up feature doesn’t work on the dashboard

I’ve been using the app for a while and I love it. It’s easy to access if I need to. Is there anyway to fix it

This app is required for my school but it is straight up buggy slop. It is obvious that they have some type of contract with the schools because otherwise this service would be unacceptable in this state. Many links simply do not work when clicked, many “oops try again” messages, discussion pages that won’t scroll down and you have to reload them to get them to work (losing your place on the long page), etc. I would be embarrassed to sell this product. Do better.

Overall, this app has saved me a FEW times when it comes to forgotten assignments. But not being able to scroll down my grades page is super annoying. Please fix this before schools let out…

This app is great for checking monitoring and even submitting assignments. Easy to use and very helpful when you can’t access your computer. However, please fix the bug that does not allow you to scroll through grades. Everytime I try to view my grades the app glitches when trying to scroll down.

You can submit assignments and pretty much anything else doesn’t work

Every time I try to scroll down to see past assignments or upcoming it freezes and then starts to glitch uncontrollably until it can finally get past that part and scrolling up again is the same situation as scrolling down if you guys could get that fixed it would make using the app so much more enjoyable and easier

1 star because I failed all my classes

I come from an android device and the experience is vastly different. On android you have access to one of the most useful tools from the website which is to check your grades as well to see “what-if” scenarios and how it would effect your grade but instead it is just a report that is really annoying especially when I don’t have time to pull out my laptop to check. Another thing is the calendar portion and how I am able to dismiss certain assignments on the android version and the desktop but not able to on the IOS. I get that not all apps can be the same but even if it’s a different implementation at least have the same features that the website has.

If your school uses the “hide quantitative data” feature, all your grades will appear as Fs if you update to this version of the app. And grade distribution graphs are visible even in courses it is not enabled. Need fixing asap.

I'm not showing that I need an update, but I think it is time because my app is glitching so badly.

Easy to navigate & extremely convenient for discussion posts/(big or small) assignments. Separate sections for grades, modules & messages + more. Saved my life so many times being able to access assignments from the app on my phone, eradicating the need to always use my laptop. DOES NEED AN UPDATE THOUGH. It is glitchy. (1st time issue for me)

When I go to reply it takes forever to load- I’ve only experienced this issue in my phone

Canvas student has been very helpful to me but I have a few recommendations for the app. There should be a way for people to add assignment to your to-do list. For example you could click add assignments in the top left corner and there would be a pop-up with the customizable details of the assignment, click submit and you have a new assignment. Overall canvas student has been very helpful to me but could do with a minor change.

Love the app but when I open up the Grades section, it won’t let me scroll down the list. It keeps rubber banding back up to the top.

WORST APP EVER

This app is really good, assignments are easy to find, I love the fact that it gives you a heads up everytime a new assignment is posted and graded! Messaging teachers has never been easier and submitting assignments is pretty straightforward! However, I have been having an issue, and I hope the app’s managing team can see this, where everytime I check on my grades, on my phone, it glitches out to where I cannot scroll down to look at all my grades, and it also glitches when I can. When I scroll down it scrolls up and down, and doesn’t move, it’s really weird! I hope they fix it soon

This version is severely so bad compared to the browser so I’m trying to find out why it even bothers bringing me to this version when I select the browser one.

There was no need to “fix” the discussion replies. Now I’m not able to see either the discussion or my reply because of the nasty two side screen. I have to scroll all the way up or down and then scroll to the middle to reflect on other people’s post. 😒

Ever since the update this week, this app keeps constantly crashing on my MacBook pro.

Why does it take ages to load the grades tab? The desktop version doesn’t have this issue. Update: Thank you for fixing this.

I literally am unable to check my grades

Confused at why this app has such a high rating. The basic functions are fine, classes and assignments are easily viewable, and the calendar is great. What’s not good and in my opinion outweighs any positives are the following: 1) inbox messages cannot be read in full while replying. While replying to a message, the message preview dropdown maxes out at 2-3 sentences of the message you’re replying to. Being able to read the whole message is essential and it’s pointless to only show what amounts to a subject line. 2) replying to inbox messages in canvas pointless if it’s more than two sentences. The app will only let you type a small amount before deciding it won’t type anymore. Tap your keyboard all you want. Those letters are going into the abyss. 3) can’t view comments on assignments in app, and once the notification is cleared you better remember which assignment got the comment because there is zero notification history in the app (or online for that matter). A notification history is very basic and easily implemented, so it missing from one of the top class management companies doesn’t make sense. 4) almost anything that isn’t a pdf or an image is subject to strange alignment issues when viewing through the app. Their complacency is also reflected in their sustained lack of quiz question types and inability to apply bonus points in a simple way. But that’s related to their complacency as a whole and not this app. This app makes me wish there was a smaller service provider other than Canvas that cared about the little things.

App does not work on brand new MacBook Air M3… Canvas is up to date, however when I try to open anything posted from my teachers all I get is a bunch of signs, numbers, symbols and letters….

I don’t need a notification every time someone posts a response to a discussion post a teacher made, any way that could be fixed?

The app itself has wonderful functionality. As an online grad student it’s great to have all my course work on a mobile device. Unfortunately the video playback is really bad. The full screen closes out playing audio in the background. There is no way to reopen the video without closing it and restarting then scrubbing through the lecture again. It’s strange that something so simple is overlooked by the developers. Please take your app more seriously.

Grade section continues to glitch

Hello! I’m a college student, and I use the app frequently. It’s perfect for classes and assignments with the additional resources provided by professors. However, on my iPhone, I have a widget that shows my grades and most recently graded assignments…and it’s not loading anymore? I’m not sure if I did something wrong, or if there’s a bug that’s prohibiting it from loading

I have found an issue when I try to look at my grades in this app. I can only see those at the top of the screen, and if I attempt to scroll then the page just sort of jumps back to the top, preventing me from seeing any other grades. I just have to hope it will notify me that an assignment has been graded if I want to see the grade for it, which it doesn’t always do, either. I am required to have this app for my school, so this deeply concerns me.

Overall the app is fine but when I get a grade notification, I can’t see the actual grade. That is the most annoying thing to me. If an assignment gets uploaded, I click and it shows the grade but when the grade is input it shows the assignment. That is backwards & if they fixed this, the app would be 5 stars.

The app itself is fine but needs some small fixes: 1. You cannot view replies to threads on the app, it just loads and loads, please fix! 2. When scrolling through modules, it’s extremely laggy and most of the time won’t scroll up/down at all.
